Window to the WorldLook beyond the walls of the visitor center. A rotating 360 touch screen brings the building to life in a beautiful interactive. Infographics & lifestyle video tell the story of Beacon Park. An augmented reality experience allows guests to see “through” the walls to orient themselves and discover nearby attractions and amenities: see the Great Park on the South wall, the beach to the West, a new favorite restaurant to the East. A corresponding map gives the full perspective of what the window is displaying.
Goal: Provide guests with a sense of where they are with a unique perspective of the community and surrounding area.
Function: Spin the window and zoom in & out to explore the area, from neighborhood amenities to local schools and beaches.
Find Your Happy Home
With 45 model homes to explore, walking Beacon Park to choose a home can feel like a daunting task. To help capture which houses feel like home, guests are provided with Great Park branded RFID-enabled keychains. They tap the keychain at check-in stations to add models they love to their profile and return to them digitally after leaving the space.
As Creative Director at EWI in 2015, I worked with Jann & the Great Parks team to define the technology experience for Beacon Park. We drew on the knowledge we gained at Pavilion Park to evolve our perspective on what would be great environment.
I worked with the EWI retail team to design the keychain & check-in stations. For Window to the World, I designed the user interface and art directed & produced the on-site photo shoots to create the looping background imagery.
